All conduits (or specify: conduits
carrying Normal circuits, Emergency Circuits, etc. as required) shall be
labeled as shown on the plans. Conduits shall be labeled within ____ feet of
termination at panels and junction boxes, at a minimum of ______ foot
intervals along the length of their run, where exposed. Conduit markers shall
snap completely and tightly around the conduit . Tie-wraps or other
mechanical means of securing the marker to the conduit shall not be required.
Markers shall grip the conduit with suitable force so that they will not slide
due to vibration or vertical positioning. |

Conduit markers shall be
manufactured from vinylite plastic with a clear laminated overlay to protect
the printed texts. They shall offer extremely high resistance to
abrasion, water, oil, gasoline, alcohol, most acids and shall be vermin and
fungus proof.

Markers can by welded in to a
solid sleeve by moistening the seam with Type IB Permatag Sealer.
This is recommended when markers are subject to severe abrasion or
temperatures above 65 degrees Centigrade. Chemical welding allows use up to
temperatures of 105 degrees Centigrade |
